The family that currently manages the Billie Jean King Tennis Center and El Dorado Park Tennis Center in Long Beach recently received the 2023 United States Tennis Association Southern California’s “Family of the Year” award for their involvement in the tennis community and dedication to the sport.

Mitch and Kim Bridge, along with children Jordan and Cooper and Cooper’s wife, Lauren, make up the Bridge family.

Besides managing the tennis and pickle ball facilities, they host the junior Southern California Tennis Academy, based out of El Dorado Park; run a nonprofit called Bridge the Gap Tennis that focuses on sharing the game with underserved youth; and operate tennis classes for Long Beach’s Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.

“We are humbled and honored to receive the USTA So Cal Family of the Year award,” Mitch and Kim Bridge wrote in a statement. “Tennis has been a central part of our family’s life, bringing us joy, challenges, and unforgettable memories. We are grateful for the support of the USTA and our community, and we look forward to continuing our journey together on and off the court.”
